Troubleshooting
The wrong game is selected
Choose Left 4 Dead 1 or 2 in the dashboard dropdown. Detection checks left4dead.exe and left4dead2.exe once per second. When both are running, your selection is preserved.
The menu does not appear
Confirm the game was started with -insecure, wait for the main menu, and press Insert after loading. Restart the game before loading the DLL again. Unsupported game binary versions leave hooks disabled.
Features are inactive
Use a local single-player map. Remote servers, demo playback, missing player data and loading screens suspend gameplay features. Enable the feature and check its hotkey mode.
Download or runtime error
Check your network connection, disk space and folder permissions. Install both x64 and x86 VC++ runtimes. Retry Load to re-check hashes and replace missing runtime assets. A failed verification does not start the helper.
Text or scripts are missing
Check the selected game's flat asset folder for languages, fonts, docs and l4d_pages.lua. Keep the current module and asset package together.
